About this hotel
Opened 1907, rebuilt at the same address in 1997 after WWII destruction. The Adlon sits on Pariser Platz with direct views of Brandenburg Gate. Amenities include spa, pool and the in-house Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer (two Michelin stars).
Few addresses embody Berlin like the Adlon on Pariser Platz. The Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and Unter den Linden are right outside - sightseeing literally starts at the lobby door. If it is your first time in the capital and you want maximum centrality paired with grand-hotel service, this is the place.
The property has a spa with pool and the Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer, one of the city's most decorated restaurants. Transport is excellent: Brandenburger Tor S-Bahn station and Friedrichstraße station are a few minutes' walk, and BER airport is a direct S-Bahn ride away.
Mitte
Stately, history-heavy, urban but polished. Tour groups by day, theater and white-tablecloth dining by night.
Getting around: the U-Bahn is Berlin's subway, the S-Bahn its above-ground commuter rail. Both run on one ticket, and BER airport is on the same network.
